Hello, it's Angelina here! I am so excited to start my helping any students who need to improve their math skills. I have so many goals for the rest of the school year with my tutoring sessions. I would love to start small and simple with the first goal being to know my students and getting an idea of what they like to do and the kind of person they are. I want to work on this goal because i want my students i tutor to know i genuinely care about them and want to see them success. Another goal i have for this Genius Hour project is to have patience and learn how to put someone else's needs and priorities before mine. The biggest goal i have is to not only have my students have a higher grade and understand the material, but also to feel confident with themselves and their math skills. I will be keeping track of my progress by the students' grades (with permission from both parents and their teacher) and by their performance during the tutoring sessions. For example, if i see that my student is more active in participation and getting more questions correct as we review or go over things, that is an automatic sign of improvement. Being a young girl still, i understand what middle scholars would want or need in order to be successful, and i want to give them just that by getting them a snack or candy bar and they might like; i hope that this would encourage them to want to do better and get a deeper understanding of the material. I am thankful i have gotten the opportunity to help someone, and i cant wait to see how the rest of the year goes!!!
